Captain’s Log, Stardate 988120.65

Today has been a long and eventful one. Our first task took us to the star system Synuefe LQ-T B50-1, where an expedition was launched with the objective of acquiring critical materials and components for the construction and research of an experimental Frame Shift Drive Booster. The theory behind this technology is promising—if successful, it could dramatically extend the jump range of our vessels, granting us unprecedented reach into the depths of uncharted space.

After several hours of resource collection and refinement, we secured the necessary components. With the assistance of a local technology broker, the first prototype was successfully assembled and installed aboard our newest exploration vessel—the Battlestar Enterprise, BS-23B. Its predecessor, the Enterprise A, was regrettably lost due to a catastrophic system-wide failure, leading to its decommissioning. However, the Enterprise B has more than lived up to her name. While her firepower is modest, her capabilities as an exploration vessel are unmatched—her jump range and fuel capacity surpassing all others in our fleet.

The second part of today’s mission, however, was a far more somber affair. Upon the Enterprise’s maiden voyage into uncharted systems, we detected anomalous signals emanating from the dark side of a remote planetary body. Upon investigation, we made a discovery of profound historical significance—a crashed Cobra Mk III, belonging to none other than Commander Jameson, the legendary pilot of the First Thargoid War.

For decades, his disappearance has remained one of the great mysteries of the era. Now, by sheer fortune, we have learned the tragic truth—his fate was not a mere accident, but the result of deliberate betrayal.

The recovered logs paint a grim picture. Jameson had been tasked by the organization now known as INRA to test a weapon against the Thargoids—a biological agent referred to as the Mycoid Virus. He had been led to believe it was designed merely to disable their hyperdrive systems, preventing their forces from spreading further into human space. But the reality was far darker.

The virus had not been engineered to cripple the Thargoids—it was designed to eradicate them. The so-called "test" was, in fact, a targeted act of genocide, one that resulted in the destruction of an entire hive ship and the deaths of millions of sentient beings. Jameson, realizing the horrifying truth, barely had time to process what he had done before his ship systems catastrophically failed. It appears INRA had anticipated his reaction and had covertly sabotaged his vessel during routine maintenance. His ship was rendered inoperative, leaving him to drift helplessly until his eventual, inevitable crash.

His final moments were spent attempting to transmit a farewell message to his son—a transmission that never reached its intended recipient. His lineage remains unclear, though intelligence suggests that someone within his lineage may still live, wondering somewhere within the galaxy.

But time does not pause for reflection. The Enterprise will continue her mission of exploration, pressing ever deeper into the unknown. Meanwhile, the Capricorn remains committed to the war effort within the home bubble near Hebe.

I can only hope that my next log will carry with it news of a brighter nature.

End log.

Captain Kyodan Dragoran Battlestar Capricorn, BS-22

SSG Shanergamer372

Captain Kyodan Dragoran was born on Earth with his eyes set on the stars. Though his upbringing was ordinary, his ambitions were anything but. At 20, he earned his pilot’s license and acquired his first ship, The Raider, beginning as a trader before realizing his true passion—exploration and command. His greatest achievement came with the Battlestar Capricorn, which he took beyond Sol to seek out new worlds and civilizations. By 24, he had become a commander of vision and resolve, known for his kindness and logic, yet beneath that exterior lay a relentless strategist. Dragoran played a pivotal role in the destruction of Titan Cocijo, led The Defense of Mars High, and orchestrated the daring rescue of his crew from certain death. His latest triumph, a flawless orbital assault, secured a key settlement for the Order. With each victory, his legacy grows—not just as a pilot or captain, but as a leader shaping the galaxy’s future. The stars still call, and Captain Dragoran answers.
